Samsung Galaxy Core Prime VE Launched for Rs.8,600



Samsung launches its smartphone, the Galaxy Core Prime VE,, priced at Rs 8,600. The device has been listed on the company’s India e-store and carries a price tag at Rs 8,600. It is offered in White, Grey and Silver color variants.The company has claimed that the phone supports Ultra Power Saving Mode, that offers 1.2 days of standby time on 10% battery level.

The smartphone was listed as 'out of stock', at the time of writing, and the company is now offering a Notify Me option for interested consumers. Similar to Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, the new smartphone by Samsung also runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

The smartphone features dual-SIM support, a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) PLS (plane- to-line switching) TFT display, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). The Galaxy Core Prime supports expandable storage via microSD card  up to 64GB only.

The Galaxy Core Prime VE is a new variant of the Galaxy Core Prime 4G, which was launched earlier this year Both have almost similar specs except for the difference in the amount of expandable storage space. The Galaxy Core Prime 4G offers only 64GB of expandable storage as compared to 128GB on the Prime VE. Additionally, the Core Prime VE does not support 4G LTE.

The Galaxy Core Prime VE sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera, and a 2-megapixel  front camera. There is a 2000mAh battery onboard. The connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 3G. The Galaxy Core Prime includes an accelerometer and proximity sensor, apart from measuring 130.8x67.9x8.8mm and sporting a matte body finish with metal sides. The official listing notes that the handset features Ultra Power Saving Mode that can offer up to 1.2 days of standby time with just 10 percent battery.



Samsung had also launched the Samsung’s Galaxy Core Prime in December 2014. With this smartphone, Samsung offered us a 4.5-inch WVGA PLS display at 480×800 pixels. The dual- SIM smartphone came with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM.The Galaxy Core Prime also sported Android 4.4 KitKat and had an inbuilt storage of 8GB which could be expanded upto 64GB with the microSD card. The camera specs were also the same.

Recently, the company also announced the Galaxy J2, which is the most affordable 4G- enabled phone by Samsung in India. It comes with a 4.5-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, and runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor. The device has 1GB of RAM along with 5MP and 2MP cameras. The smartphone has 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB. The phone is powered by 2000mAh battery and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1. Earlier, Samsung also launched its latest flagships devices, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 in India. The devices were priced at Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 59,990 respectively, at the time of launch.
